San Marcos Gets Its First Trader Joe's, Headed to North City
Sea Breeze Properties announced Aug. 10 that Trader Joe's is coming to North City, the mixed-use district south of SR-78 by Cal State San Marcos. It is the city's first store. This is a retail and daily-needs story, not a repeat of the April North City housing-targets piece already on this news board.
What was announced
The grocer confirmed the North City area but has not released an opening date or exact address. Construction is already underway in the district. 222 North City, 458 apartments, is about half leased. The announcement also listed Haggo's Organic Taco, Honor Pilates, and Padel N9NE. The Union-Tribune noted this is the third new county Trader Joe's disclosed in recent months, after Clairemont Town Square and 1590 Leucadia Blvd.
