Riverwalk Construction Advances on Apartments, Townhomes, and a Future Trolley Stop
Riverwalk's Q2 2026 update shows three housing pieces moving at once on the former golf course. This is a different pipeline from the SDSU Mission Valley senior tower already on this site. If you want new for-sale product in Mission Valley, the townhomes are the one to calendar for late 2026 sales details.
What is under construction
The Becker is in framing, with 190 affordable homes aimed at first occupancy in July 2027. The Village is finishing concrete and heading into framing this summer for 721 apartments and about 75,000 square feet of retail, including a grocer, with openings planned in 2028. Early grading is underway for 276 for-sale townhomes and a 1.5-acre public park, with first homes also targeted for 2028. Planning continues for an MTS Green Line station timed with The Village. The existing golf course stays open for another 7 to 10 years before it becomes a 95-acre public park.
Why it matters
- Renters should watch The Becker in 2027 and The Village in 2028.
- The trolley station is the long-term value add for anyone buying a townhome or holding a nearby condo.
- Construction traffic on Friars and the river path will be part of daily life here through the decade. Underwrite that, not just the amenity deck.
